Paula Knight

Vice President, Corporate Image and Business Excellence, Microsoft Canada Co.

As Vice President of Corporate Image and Business Excellence Paula Knight leads Microsoft Canada’s corporate image strategy including citizenship and internal and external communications. Ms. Knight is also responsible for the Canadian Operations Leadership Team and Business Planning virtual team, driving strategy and structure while enhancing operational effectiveness and agility. Ms. Knight is also a member of Microsoft’s worldwide corporate communications council responsible for guiding the company’s global image agenda.

Ms. Knight has held a wide variety of roles since joining Microsoft Canada in 2000. Most recently, she was the Director of Corporate Communications and Citizenship. Prior to this role Ms. Knight was Director of Community Affairs and led development of the company’s citizenship framework, forming partnerships with prominent national and local community and public organizations. Ms. Knight was also instrumental in the development of programs such as the Child Exploitation Tracking System (CETS) and the CNIB Digital Library and Children’s Discovery Portal.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Ms. Knight served as Director of Regional Marketing for The TDL Group, where she spent eight years leading marketing strategy and community engagement for Tim Hortons stores in Canada and the U.S.

Ms. Knight is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal for outstanding contribution to the community in Canada and she was presented with Microsoft’s Chairman Award by Bill Gates in July 2003. Ms. Knight is an active volunteer with the Kids Internet Safety Alliance (KINSA) and a passionate advocate for the rights of children who are victims of online exploitation. She blogs regularly about the importance of keeping children safe online and is the founder of the Mothers Online Movement.

Ms. Knight lives with her husband and two small children in Burlington, Ontario.
