New enterprise lending lifecycle portal helps increase business agility and speed to market.

MISSISSAUGA, ON - March 21, 2007 - Microsoft Canada Co. today announced that First Canadian Title, Canada’s leading provider of title insurance, has launched its enterprise lending lifecycle portal, which was built using Microsoft® .NET Framework and Avanade Connected Architectures for .NET (ACA.NET). The company has implemented the new portal solution to provide lenders with access to a reliable and scalable platform that enables them to effectively collaborate on lending transactions, improving customer satisfaction.

First Canadian Title chose the .NET Framework based on its ability to help developers quickly build, deploy and manage connected Web solutions. First Canadian Title worked closely with Avanade, a Microsoft Gold Certified technology partner, to help build the portal and create an accompanying administration tool based on ACA.NET and Visual C#®.

“When integrated into a lender’s current workflow, this highly configurable portal will become the lending fulfillment benchmark for firms that want to help raise the bar in an increasingly competitive environment,” said Sam Dotson, Chief Information Officer, First Canadian Title.

“First Canadian Title is driving the next decade of innovation relative to managing the lending lifecycle,” said Rick Birkenstock, General Manager, Avanade Canada. “In less than a year, we created a dynamic and highly configurable Web application that has dramatically improved First Canadian Title’s ability to collaborate with its customers at various stages of the lending lifecycle. This project is first of a series of cooperative efforts that First Canadian Title plans to engage in to improve the company’s agility and capitalize on the framework they have deployed based on Microsoft .NET-connected software.”

Using a number of the latest Microsoft technologies, including ASP.NET technology which helps developers build dynamic Web applications, First Canadian Title has strengthened its ability to integrate with a lender’s existing workflow, terminology and business rules. This will enable lenders to manage other functions, such as training materials, contact information and password policies, so the user interface is configured for individual applicant entry and administration each time the lender logs in.

“Companies like First Canadian Title require the ability to rapidly introduce innovation into existing processes and better monitor, improve, optimize and collaborate around existing and new business opportunities. By choosing Microsoft and the .NET-based platform, First Canadian Title has created a more comprehensive, functional, cost-effective business portal that will have a profound impact on how lending transactions are completed,” said Dan Bloch, Director, financial services, Microsoft Canada. “Basing its new Web solution on the .NET framework is helping First Canadian Title increase its agility and responsiveness to customer needs while keeping IT costs and complexity to a minimum.”
