All the nice weather across Canada has generated a springtime-like atmosphere here at MSDN Canada. With spring comes a sense of renewal, which explains why we decided to launch our new and improved Web site today! This launch improves the MSDN Canada homepage by providing a richer user experience, allowing you to quickly find the information you're looking for. Also, we'd added two entirely new sections dedicated to Architecture and Community (look for yours truly). Finally, we've improved our Security section to reflect these changes.

Speaking of security, our very own security wonk, Dan Sellers is kicking off a new webcast series entitled, "Security March". This series will compromise of five sessions covering the best
practices for using and understanding the numerous security tools and features that have been integrated in either the .NET Framework 2.0 or Visual Studio 2005. "Security March" will occur every Wednesday during March. More information and the ability to register for these webcasts can be found on MSDN Canada Webcasts.

Later this spring, VSLive! will take place in Toronto on April 24-27, 2006. This conference features industry-leading speakers and professionals, providing real-world insights and information on the latest Microsoft technologies. Register before the Super Early Bird Deadline to save hundreds of dollars. More information can be found on VSLive! Toronto. If you are more of a person-to-person type, you will definitely want to check out MIX conference this March in Vegas. MIX is a 72-hour conversation where you can discuss high-fidelity commerce, content, media, services, and security for the World Wide Web, and hang out with industry and thought leaders like Bill Gates and Tim O'Reilly.

Looking for something to do in May? Why not head over to Montreal for DevTeach! DevTeach is an international developer conference featuring tracks on .NET, SQL Server, Smart Client development, and Web development (among others). More information can be obtained from the DevTeach Web site.

As you can see, 2006 is already looking to be a pretty exciting year! Please stay tuned to the MSDN Flash for more announcements and updates in the future.

Go Flames Go.
