I am excited to announce a new program from MSDN Canada. The MSDN Code Awards is designed to recognize deserving Canadian developers and development teams who are passionate about building great software. Canada has some of the best and most passionate developers on the planet and we want to recognize those individuals and teams who has made a difference to their colleages, their business or to the community. They may also have created something unique, something that challenges commonly held conventions or something that is simply very cool.
You can nominate an individual developer you admire, a team of great developers, a team you’ve worked on or…..even yourself. The two award categories are: Developer of the Year and Development Team of the Year. Nominate today and tell us who you think is the best Developer in Canada and the best Development Team in Canada. There are some great prizes to be won!

The Windows Live Webcast Series is underway and we’ve had a great deal of interest from developers across the country and around North America wanting to know more about technologies like Live Search. There’s only three Webcasts left. Make sure you don’t miss out on learning how to target this powerful Web platform.

Nov 14th @ 12:00noon EST – A Richer User Experience with Virtual Earth
Nov 21st @ 12:00noon EST – How Cool are Windows Live Gadgets
Nov 28th @ 12:00noon EST – Writing Bots for Windows Live Messenger

Finally, for those of you wanting to get a head start on learning about Office and Vista development, Microsoft Learning has just published a set of free e-learning courses. Make sure to check out the learning portals for Windows Vista and the .NET Framework 3.0 and the 2007 Office System. This is a limited time offer so make sure to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn about building next generation applications on the .NET Framework 3.0, the 2007 Office System, and Windows Vista.
