Notice something different? Yes, we've redesigned the newsletter. Iím Qixing Zheng, a User Experience Advisor, and a new face to introduce our new design. You told us that there was an overwhelming amount of information in the old newsletter design, so it was hard for you to navigate efficiently and find relevant content. A new design was needed to improve your reading experience and it was your feedback that has driven this change. The goals of the new design are to provide: 1) a clear structure, 2) less overall content but more relevant information, 3) interactivity and an easy connection back to our team. Please tell us what you think, as your experience matters!

User eXperience (UX) is what defines a product in usersí opinions. Thatís why Starbucks can sell a 25-cent cup of coffee as a multi-dollar retail experience. UX is not just about how a product looks or its functionality but more about how itís perceived, learnt and used. Everyone involving in product development plays an important role in UX. At MIX09 Keynote, Bill Buxton talked about how focusing on ďReturn on ExperienceĒ can help companies thrive in tough economical times and this is what Microsoft is doing. For example, one of the key design principles for IE8 is to build for people on the go and make your everyday browsing activities faster and easier through tools like Accelerator and Web Slices. I encourage you to check out Billís keynote and think about how UX can be a differentiator for your business.
