With September comes the start of the busy season for us at Microsoft Canada’s Developer and Platform Evangelism group. On September 14th in Vancouver, we kick off the 2010 edition of TechDays, our cross-Canada technical conference. This year’s TechDays takes place in 8 Canadian cities (in order: Vancouver , Edmonton , Toronto , Halifax , Ottawa , Montreal , Winnipeg and Calgary ) from September through December. TechDays 2010 has two developer-focused tracks:

- Developing for Three Screens and the Cloud , which covers building applications for the desktop, the web and the phone, as well as for Azure, and

- Optimizing the Development Process , which is all about sharpening your development skills and processes and successfully taking your applications from concept to working software.

The $349.99 “early bird” registration price for any TechDays city is available up to six weeks prior to the conference in that city, after which registration goes up to the regular price, which is almost double the early bird rate. The Vancouver and Edmonton early bird pricing has expired, and you don’t have much time until the early bird prices for Toronto (September 16) and Halifax (September 21) disappear. Register now !

As the TechDays conference takes place across Canada, another big push across the country will be taking place at the same time: the Windows Phone 7 launch. The OS went RTM (Release to Manufacturing) on September 1st, and the matching version of the developer tools will go RTM on the 16th, with Marketplace opening for submissions not long after that. And last but not least: watch for the announcement of the release of Windows Phones in Canada, which takes place in time for the holiday shopping season.

It’s going to be an exciting and busy fall. Keep an eye on MSDN e-news and our developer blog, Canadian Developer Connection for the latest news, of which there’s going to be plenty!
