It’s been a while since we’ve talked about Cloud computing and Window Azure in the MSDN Flash Newsletter, so here we are with this edition of the newsletter talking about moving your application to the Cloud. Many are often discouraged from moving to the Cloud because of the thought of having to reengineer their solutions or applications to support the Cloud. Fortunately, that’s not the case as there are different ways in which you can take advantage of the Cloud.

, I talk about solutions or applications that are designed for Windows Azure and those that are compatible with Windows Azure. Wherever you are on your product roadmap, don’t let that be a barrier to you realizing the development, infrastructure, and cost benefits of the Cloud and of Windows Azure. Having said that, it’s important to understand which areas of your solution or application can and cannot be modified easily to leverage Windows Azure. The best way to do that — give it a try!
Before you go ahead, make changes to your solution, and start testing those changes, you’re going to want to try it out on a simple application. This will give you an idea of the effort involved in moving to the Cloud.

I’m convinced that you’ll be surprised how easy it is to move to the Cloud, leveraging the skills and knowledge that you already have and the tools that you already know, so I challenge you:
