Here’s what you need to know

1. Who can enter Gadget Vs Gadget?

All residents of Canada, age of majority, except Microsoft employees.

2. Is the contest worldwide?

Unfortunately no, this contest is open only to residents of Canada. Gadgets must be submitted to the Windows Live Gallery.

3. Can a group entry be accepted?

No. A competition entry must be posted to the Gallery using a single Windows Live ID. The announced winner will get recognition. If the winner credits or shares the prize with others, it is at his or her sole discretion. Please note only the entrant will be listed as the winner on the Gadget Vs Gadget website.

4. What criteria will gadgets be judged on?

Good question. Gadgets will be judged on three criteria:

• Look & feel
• Innovation
• Functionality

The judging panel will consist of the MSDN Evangelist Team.

5. Can I use third party APIs in my gadgets?

Sure. Just be sure to check Terms of Use of the API or service before using it. It is also a good idea to see if the website you are referring can handle the increased traffic your new gadget may generate. When using third party content and services, you can only use items publicly available.

6. I submitted my gadget a few days ago, but I don’t see it posted on the Windows Live Gallery yet?

Please note it will take a few business days for your gadget to be reviewed and only approved gadgets will be posted and eligible to enter the competition. Eligible gadgets must be submitted to (http://gallery.live.ca) before 5:00pm EST Wednesday, August 15th , 2007.

7. Can I make changes to my entry?

Yes, but only while the competition is still open. Just use the My Gallery link on the Windows Live Gallery site. Updates to the item will not reset the download centre. You must also re-submit your Gadget Vs Gadget entry and the tool will override your first submission to update your entry.

8. Help! You didn’t answer my question.
