As things tend to slow down at work over the holiday season, take the time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished over the last year. You’ve worked hard, taken on new and challenging projects, helped out countless number of people just by being you and doing your job. Working in the IT world can sometimes feel like a thankless job — you seem to get most of your attention when things go wrong, not when things go right.

Give yourself a well-deserved pat on the back. You made a difference. You helped your user community. You solved impossible problems. You met unrealistic timelines. Seriously — Congrats! Take some time to recharge, reconnect with your friends and family — take some time for yourself.

Looking forward to next year — I want to ask you something. What are you going to do differently to make an impact both personally and professionally?

Next year looks HOT. We’re launching a major suite of products with System Center 2012 ensemble and more cool stuff coming down the pipe with the next milestone of our Server and Client operating systems.

Want to get a jump start on your research? We’ve got a FREE offer on the table for a couple of DoubleDoubles * to enjoy as you kick back and reflect on life while you wait for the Downloads to complete.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from myself and the TechNet team.
