Volume 10, Issue 22: November 2008
From the Editor
Greetings New TechNet Flash Subscriber,
Visit Our Blog!
In the last TechNet Flash I shared some resources for the IT Generalist and got a lot of positive feedback from that. One thing I noticed was a lot of the people who classified themself as a generalist worked in small businesses, or were even running their own small businesses. That reminded me about a new set of tools available to small businesses is Canada called Office Live Small Business I wish this was available when I was running my own small business! When I was running a small business I had challenges with finding reliable, inexpensive web hosting, email hosting as well as guidance on how to market and grow my onlice presence. While the technology comes easy to vast majority of Flash readers, we all face the same financial struggles starting out on our own.

Office Live Small Business (OLSB for short) eases the transition into starting your own business and allows you to create and host your online presence at no charge. Yes a free domain name (for the first year), web hosting and email hosting for up to 100 email accounts as well as online tools to manage your online presence, manage your business and manage and share your documents, projects and customers. Once you are on your way there are a numner of a la carte additions for E-commerce, Search Ads and more.

I know a few people who were using the beta of this set of tools and I urge you to check it out if you are looking for help for your small business or planning on starting your own! You can find out more by reading the FAQ or check out their blog to learn more!
