Every Tech guy/gal I run into asks me if I’ve tried Windows 7. I’ve been running it since it was released to the public on January 10th. I ask them back if they have PRE-ORDERED their copy yet. YUP — you can get a copy at approximately 50% off right now (until July 11th) in Canada ( details here ). You’ll find options to get an upgrade version of Windows 7 Home Premium or Windows 7 Professional from one of 6 different online retailers. Don’t know if Windows 7 will run on your machine or not? Check out the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to see if you have any compatibility issues or resource constraints.

Personally — I’ve found Windows 7 has been great in its current Release Candidate form . I’ve installed it on everything from a four year old laptops to a couple of Netbooks and high performance workstations. I have been pleasantly surprised with the stability of the operating system and the maturity of the drivers included in box and coming down from Windows Update.

What are your plans for getting ready to integrate Windows 7 into your home and work environment? Keep up to date with tips, tricks and planning advice with resources for Windows 7 you’ll find on the Canadian IT Pro Blog . If you want even more in-depth information — check out the experts at TechDays 2009 in the Windows Client Track — I just snuck a peek at the sessions and they looked really good.
