Looking back over 2010 Vol 12-26 | December, 2010
Email me
It’s that time of year once again where things are winding down and people start to get ready for some holiday time. Everyone traditionally takes a moment to look back and see what things have happened over the past year in their personal and work lives to evaluate their successes and challenges. Here at the Microsoft Canada Community team and TechNet Canada a couple of things stand out as being noteworthy and I wanted to share them with you.

TechDays Canada 2010 has wrapped up in Calgary just a little while ago and with it I got the chance to talk to over a couple of thousand Technical Professionals about “The Cloud” and how it’s something that you HAVE to invest some time in to understand proactively in order to be successful in your upcoming career. Whether it’s trying out Azure to understand Platform As A Service or trialing Software As A Service offerings like BPOS or our upcoming Office 365 — it’ something you just have to do.

Windows 7 deployment projects are either in the planning stages or already underway. Our best online source of resources still remains our SpringBoard site on TechNet. Lots of resources tied to the current phase you are in from discovery to pilot and finally management .

The importance of staying connected and up to date on things in the IT world from a Canadian perspective can’t be overlooked. Please share this newsletter with your friends and colleagues and encourage them to sign up . Likewise — if you’re looking for a more frequent connection — check out our team blog and subscribe to the RSS feed — big changes going on over there this coming year!

Please take a moment to look back at your milestones this year and reflect on your choices. As I’ve mentioned before — if there’s anything I can do for you here within Microsoft — don’t hesitate to reach out and email me . I look forward to hearing from you. And let us know what you think of the TechNet newsletter by taking this quick online survey . Upon completion, you'll be entered into a draw to win an Xbox 360 console with Kinect and a Halo Reach Legendary Edition*
