Waiting for service pack 1?  Even though Gartner said that “businesses don’t need to wait for Service Pack 1” , many still have.  Good news! SP1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 is almost here and the beta is publicly available!  So what’s new in the Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1?

Well for starters the service pack includes all the security updates and hotfixes released since RTM as well as others and a new remote desktop client (version 7.1).  On top of that Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 also includes two new features, RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory.  These two features will allow you to maximize the resources in your virtual infrastructure.  You can find out more about these at TechDays which kicks off in three weeks in Vancouver before heading across Canada.  In the meantime check out the resources to the right of this editorial for more information.
