I’m Rick Claus, Senior Technical Evangelist with Microsoft Canada. You might have seen me over the years at Microsoft events and probably noticed I’m always wearing my Green hat. I started wearing it so people could easily recognize me and hopefully reach out to make a connection. Why? I work on the team at Microsoft who’s tasked with reaching out, supporting and connecting with people in the ICT community — from students all the way up to CxO. Our team priority is all about empowering you to be successful in your role, grow your skills and helping you expand your professional network.
I’m writing this as we wrap up our first
TechDays 2010
event in Vancouver. It got me thinking - TechDays is something we created three years ago in direct response to YOUR feedback, asking us for more technical content, less marketing material, access to local experts and opportunities to grow your professional connections. It’s an example of how we’ve taken your feedback and put it into action. We’re trying to ensure you are completely satisfied with Microsoft. Whether it’s expanding the content available online
with free Virtual Lab Environments
, giving you access to the latest bits and builds of
Internet Explorer 9
to get ahead of the curve or give you the best planning advice to roll out
a migration to Windows 7
, we’re committed to your success.
Although we might not be able to reach every city in Canada, we try to use every opportunity (both online and in person) when we’re on the road to be available to connect with you and listen in order to make things better. Ultimately, we’re aiming to earn your trust so you are very satisfied with your relationship with Microsoft. All this being said — I do have an ask. Can you help us to help you?
-If you get a survey about your satisfaction from Microsoft, PLEASE take the time to respond and provide us feedback.
-If you’re not able to say “very satisfied with Microsoft” tell us why. If you like - Email me directly
rick.claus@microsoft.com
-If you don’t get the survey, and would like to provide feedback, I’m always listening and encourage you
to send me an email
, call me at 613-795-9216 or connect with me on
twitter
or
LinkedIn
.
This survey window opens sometime around September 27th and runs for about a month. If you receive a survey request from Microsoft, please take the time to complete it in order to give us insight into what we’re doing well and what we could do better. With the feedback I’ve been hearing to date and changes we’ve made along the way — I am confident that we’re heading in the right direction. That being said — I still don’t want to take anything for granted and there is always room to improve.
If you take in one of our
events in Canada
or if I happen to be in your neighbourhood over the course of my travels — look for the Green hat. Stop me and let’s have a chat. I’ll buy the coffee and I’m ready to take notes
