Learn more about Springboard on Internet Explorer |

A little while back there was a virtual roundtable from the Springboard team talking about Application Compatibility for your deployment specifically
focusing on IE6 issues with internal websites
. We’ve had a lot of content out over the last couple of years
about how to handle locally installed apps
, but this was a really good resource for those in house applications hosted on webservers targeting IE6 browsers. Back in its day — IE6 was the standard for browsers in the cutting edge XP rollouts taking place in companies of all sizes. Now these apps act as potential “blockers” preventing you from going ahead with your Windows 7 deployment plans. I wanted to draw your attention to some great updated articles that can help you out and continue some forward momentum.
Following the application deployment lifecycle concept, you should first start off with “
Discover and Explore IE 8
” to understand what’s different with the latest production release of IE. Follow that up with a dash of “
Piloting and deploying IE 8
” and a sprinkle of “
Managing IE8
”. The roll up of all things IE from a Technical support perspective would be the
IE TechCenter Home page
, which covers all currently supported versions as well as the
upcoming IE 9
.
Springboard
is really starting to grow on me these days. It has all sorts of resources tailored to the current stage of your existing and future desktop infrastructure plan. There’s something there for businesses of all sizes from
the mom and pop shop
all the way up to multi-national enterprises. When is the last time you checked out Springboard?
