Deploying Windows 7? Read This First! Vol 13-1 | January, 2011
Email me
While Rick is on some sunny beach somewhere, spending some well-earned quality time with his family, I’ve been asked to fill in. I’m Ruth Morton, a Technology Advisor with Microsoft Canada and this newsletter’s topic is application compatibility.

I don’t need to tell you how important it is to make sure that your company’s applications are going to work before rolling out a new operating system. You can be sure that if the payroll software or customer billing application doesn’t work, you’ll hear about it! So as you start planning your deployment, check out the Springboard site where you’ll find a plethora of technical resources, free tools and expert guidance. The Springboard folk have put together 5 Steps to Windows 7 Application Readiness as well as a collection of tools — free tools — that you have at your disposal to ensure the compatibility of your apps before deploying your new OS to the masses on the Application Compatibility site .

I hope you find these links useful! Also, check below in the Community Events section for local User Group sessions where you can learn more on Windows 7 deployment.
