GPS receivers and navigation software gives users precise navigational information, including position, altitude, and speed direction if in motion. The receivers pick up signals from Global Positioning Satellites orbiting the earth. The navigation software translates the signals into useful information. Most solutions provide street-level maps and turn-by-turn directions to the destination you select. A number of these receivers are designed to work with Pocket PCs, Phone Edition devices, and Smartphones.
External keyboards: Most Pocket PCs are pen-entry handhelds without physical keyboards. Some Phone Edition devices have thumb keyboards, but these are small and not well suited for extended text entry. If you occasionally need to enter a lot of data into your Pocket PC or Smartphone, respond to e-mails and the like, you should consider an external keyboard. Fortunately, optional fold-out keyboards are available for most Windows Mobile devices. The first place to look for these is on your Pocket PC or Smartphone manufacturer’s Web site. You can also check out the Stowaway Bluetooth Keyboard, available on the Think Outside Web site (thinkoutside.com).
You can add many other capabilities to your Windows Mobile device with relatively inexpensive accessories. Want to watch broadcast or cable TV on your Pocket PC?
