Because the company was using multiple IT systems that were not integrated with each other, it was experiencing some challenges in managing its business operations. For example, the firm was experiencing difficulty in extracting data such as inventory and financial
consolidation figures from its retail outlets - particularly those that were located in different countries.
“If I had to generate a report, I have to look at each of our outlet’s database, extract and collate the data that I need, and finally put it in an Excel sheet. Because this is done manually, it is a very time-consuming process,” says Sethu Gopalakrishna Pillai,
who works as an IT Manager. “Furthermore, we had challenges in developing appropriate sales strategies because we could not capture customer data in our legacy system. This lack of information prevented us from analyzing our client’s spending habits; thereby
setting up relevant sales campaigns more difficult,” he adds.
