XCentral has established itself as a reliable provider of IT infrastructure, managed services and on-demand cloud solutions to small and medium-sized businesses. By early 2012, however, three technology trends were impacting their existing business model.
“Cloud computing is becoming the status quo, which means a sustainable business model has to be built around services, not just products,” says Philip Patelis, Director, XCentral. “We wanted to capitalise on this growing opportunity by bundling our services
with desktop applications, but we needed a trusted hosting partner that could deploy quickly and easily.”
Secondly, Patelis noted that smaller companies wanted to virtualise their infrastructure to gain the same efficiencies as larger firms. And thirdly, he saw that customers expected all their applications to be accessible offsite, so staff could work flexibly
and from mobile devices.
