PPG Industries Supports Sudden Web Traffic Spikes of 800 Percent with Cloud Platform
4-page Case Study posted: 09/27/2011

When global manufacturer PPG Industries was founded in 1883, high-tech marketing meant printing a flyer. Today, it means keeping up with constantly changing digital channels and platforms. PPG recently got the chance to explore new approaches for marketing its paint brands when it created the web-based Paint Sample Selector tool for one of the world’s largest home-improvement retailers. The solution had to help consumers to make sense of 5,000 paint choices, run with high reliability, and scale to support sudden spikes. PPG accomplished this with the Windows Azure platform for cloud computing and Microsoft Silverlight. Site visitors use the tool intuitively and immediately. The solution has scaled to support sudden spikes of 800 percent. And PPG has found a technology that meets its criteria for a long-term, global marketing platform.

4-page Case Study posted: 05/20/2011

buuteeq’s initial product is a Digital Marketing System (DMS) for hotels that helps drive direct engagement with prospective guests by putting the hotels’ brands directly in front of potential guests via the marketing channels where over 90% of hotel discovery and buying decisions are made: on the Web, on mobile phones, and in social networks such as Facebook. By using Microsoft® Expression Studio 4 Ultimate™ with Blend and SketchFlow to build the first version of its DMS, buuteeq was able to create realistic prototypes more rapidly and gather internal and client feedback more effectively. Video Only posted: 05/20/2011

Grays Online are an online retailer who were having issues with the current method they were using to test whether coding could be released onto the internet – having to wait between three to four hours in most cases. The company was already using Microsoft® Visual Studio 2008 and .NET stack, and decided to upgrade to Microsoft®Visual Studio 2010, which was released with Microsoft® Test Manager 2010. Engaging the services of KJ Ross, a Microsoft Certified Partner, the company was able to boost their working knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the capabilities of the software. This new software has made the testing process a breeze – at any time the company can log on and see not only what tests are running, but also track the status of each particular test. This has reduced testing time by more than half , and has given the company a fantastic platform for growth.

Government agencies save on storage and increase mailbox capacity with Microsoft® Exchange Server 2010
4-page Case Study posted: 05/11/2011

InTACT needed faster and easier access to old emails as well as greater storage capacity for them that was relatively inexpensive. A smooth migration took place and, after upgrading to Microsoft® Exchange Server 2010, the company has been able to address these issues. Users now find it much easier to locate old emails, and furthermore InTACT’s storage capacity has significnatly increased. Moreover, any concerns that were had about potentially losing files in the upgrade were allayed once the system was up and running, and it demonstrated faster speeds due to network load balancers. The company is extremely pleased with the return on investment and approximates that it will save them around $350, 000 per year on data storage. Additonally, as upgrades and patches are all included within their contract with Microsoft, further savings are expected.
