Ballance Agri-Nutrients is the leading fertilizer manufacturer in New Zealand. The company wanted to improve the performance of its critical SAP applications to better serve customers. To do that, Ballance migrated its database to Microsoft SQL Server 2012, greatly improving application performance. Employees are more productive, and the company has cut storage costs by 60 percent. Also, Ballance can better handle business growth.

Sanofi is a leading global pharmaceutical company that focuses on innovative healthcare solutions and serving patients. To get the most revenue out of patent lifespans, the company sought to streamline its complex clinical documentation processes. With the help of Microsoft and two Microsoft Partner Network members, it implemented a Structured Content Management platform that is built on a foundation of Microsoft solutions, including the Intelligent Content Framework for regulated industries. The company’s proof of concept addressed one part of the documentation compendium, the creation of patient narratives, which summarize patient results in a clinical study—saving the company 22,000 hours of work on 4,000 documents. Sanofi also benefits from easy-to-use, industry-leading tools that generate high-quality and consistent messaging. The cost savings has already reached US$2 million.

The ability to communicate effectively across locations is critical to the company. For messaging and communication, Lupin was using Lotus Notes, but as business grew rapidly, the company found its needs had exceeded the existing solution’s capabilities. To avoid the cost and effort to deploy and maintain a new on-premises messaging solution, the company decided to consider a hosted service. It implemented Microsoft Office 365, which provides a high level of security and reliability. Lupin migrated over 11,000 employees across four key countries to Microsoft Exchange Online, providing the latest capabilities to help them communicate more effectively and efficiently.

Noroo Paint & Coating Co., Ltd., a paint maker with a 60-year history carried out a project for migrating the numerous business systems, which had accumulated for decades in the server room, to a private cloud. The best part of this project is that servers, storage and networks are integrated on one rack and 50 or so tasks are residing in individual environments (multi-tenants). This integration of the whole system was possible because Windows Server 2012 and System Center 2012.
