School cloud transforms curriculum creativity and collaboration
2 page Case Study posted: 03/12/2014

Teachers at Frankston High wanted to make course curricula more accessible, dynamic and useful. They wanted students to collaborate more intensively when working from home, and have the ability to observe progress on students’ work, so they could informally coach and steer them in the right direction. Using SharePoint Online in Microsoft Office 365, Director of Technical Services, Daniel Anderson gave teachers the ability to quickly create their own branded class and project collaboration sites. Teachers build curriculum material into master notebooks using Microsoft OneNote and store them on dedicated class and project sites. Students download the notebooks, work directly into their own versions, and save them in the cloud with SkyDrive Pro. Students now enjoy greater flexibility, real-time collaboration and active discussion, as well as targeted and timely coaching from teachers.

L’Occitane en Provence depends on the hard work of its employees to create a store environment that reflects the romance and beauty of Provence. However, employees often had trouble accessing and editing documents from the company’s Microsoft SharePoint Server intranet portal because they were using incompatible OpenOffice software. Bookseller Continues Advancing Multi-line Expansion with Cloud-Based Tools
4-page Case Study posted: 06/17/2013

Transformation has been a necessity for Indigo Books & Music, Canada’s largest book retailer. While many traditional booksellers struggle to compete in today’s digitally-driven landscape, Indigo has found success in breaking the mold and constantly thinking ahead. Since opening its first brick-and-mortar shop in 1997, the organization has evolved into a multichannel destination for specialty toy, home and lifestyle products while continuing to remain close to its booklover customers. To help achieve this transformation, Indigo needed an operating model that reflected its commitment to innovation. Indigo’s leaders considered multiple options but after thoughtful consideration, they chose Microsoft Office 365. Today, the company is radically redefining the way people work together—and what’s possible for the organization.

4-page Case Study posted: 05/15/2013

Inspired by a family who understood the challenges of finding pediatric services, blueballoon Health Services takes a unique approach to healthcare delivery. “Our business model involves running multiple centers in multiple communities,” says CEO and co-founder Stephen MacEwen. “We want to be in our families’ communities, rather than having them travel long distances.” Thanks to the comprehensive package of cloud-based software that comes with Office 365, blueballoon’s therapists can work nearly anywhere. The company chose Office 365 over Google Apps for its easy-to-manage access to email, calendar sharing, chat, and other collaboration tools. Now, therapists can quickly share information and expert advice with each other. And it’s all simple enough that no IT support is needed for remote workers. MacEwen says that today, Office 365 is core to the way blueballoon works.

Software Company Uses Cloud-Based File Sharing and Conferencing for Global Support
4-page Case Study posted: 05/08/2013

Ophthalmologists turn to ifa systems to capture diagnostic information from specialty equipment and create more complete records, so they can focus instead on protecting their patients’ vision. However, ifa itself struggled to maintain secure, remote access to email and important documents for its own employees. Facing the limits of a small IT staff, the software company realized it needed to move infrastructure and administration to the cloud in order to support its remote installation teams. Using a single login, ifa employees can now access Office 365 from a variety of mobile devices for Outlook email, calendars, and contacts. In addition, ifa employees, of which about 80% work remotely, can easily collaborate with desktop sharing and IM through Lync Online. ifa’s IT team no longer works weekends to maintain on-premise hardware, and administration is as simple as sending an invitation.
