M.J. Maillis Group, an Athens-based corporation that manufactures and distributes end-of-line industrial solutions, including strapping, wrapping, and taping packaging material, serves customers in more than 50 countries worldwide. Its 1,450 employees struggled with multiple IT solutions for email, costing the company time and IT resources for managing the different mail platforms.

Situation

M.J. Maillis Group, founded in 1968, is involved in the manufacture and distribution of end-of-line industrial solutions. This includes strapping, wrapping, and taping packaging material, strapping tools, shrinking and carton-sealing machines, and special bands. It offers complete solutions, covering both the heavy-duty and light packaging markets and serves all industrial applications. Maillis Group serves customers in more than 52 countries worldwide through a network of 27 owned affiliate companies and more than 350 independent distributors.

With 1,450 employees around the world, the company struggled with a variety of solutions across several IT brands and platforms. Managing such disparate platforms for email added significantly to the company’s IT costs.

The company needed a single, responsive, efficient, and less-costly IT solution that would enable workers to collaborate easily and enable the company and its clients to communicate reliably, with no down time or added IT expense. And it wanted a solution that would be familiar, professional, and easy to learn and deploy.

Solution

To reduce the costly duplication and incompatibility of its IT solutions, , M.J. Maillis Group's IT vendor, Byte Computers SA, a Microsoft Partner, advised the company to migrate to Microsoft Office 365. This online service unites familiar Microsoft Office applications with email, calendaring, collaboration, and communication solutions.
