See how v8 Supercars used Office 365 to bypass server upgrades and fast-track growth
V8 Supercars is an international motorsport, media and entertainment company based in Australia. It employs 70 full-time staff with a network of approximately 1600 contractors and volunteers to manage race teams, events and broadcasts to more than 130 countries
V8 Supercars had outgrown its current IT infrastructure and wanted a cost-effective, flexible platform to support its expansion plans. With a highly mobile team setting up, delivering and broadcasting race events all over the world, it was critical to provide
fast, efficient access to email and company files from virtually any location.
V8 Supercars moved to Microsoft Office 365, giving everyone in the business stable, reliable access to their files, email and modern collaboration tools when they’re working in their Gold Coast headquarters, Sydney office or from various trackside locations
in Australia and around the world.
“It was a smooth transition with Office 365 once we got underway. Our IT partner Sinapse worked with us on the implementation with immediate results,” says Peter Trimble, Director of Finance and Systems.
“Connecting our people securely to their email and their Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with no downtime is key to operating our business,” says Trimble.
“Our business runs primarily on contracts and intellectual property. Now we can have multiple people access and collaborate on a single document in real time, from almost anywhere,” he explains.
Poised to expand its brand into new overseas markets, the company plans to use Lync videoconferencing and instant messaging to further improve collaboration. “Keeping our staff connected with videoconferencing, document collaboration and email will be even
more critical in future. Office 365 supports these growth plans, helping us control our costs along the way,” says Trimble.
THE RESULTS AND BENEFITS
|| We are extremely cost conscious. When we looked at it, we saw that moving to Office 365 wouldn’t cost more than maintaining our old systems.
