MB7 Cycling Stunt Team Ramps Up on Business Computing to Connect with Customers

“With Windows Small Business Server 2011, we offer a professional customer experience including self-serve bookings and access to promotional materials. This sets us apart from our competition.”
—Iain Withers, Managing Director, MB7

Situation
MB7 runs The Clan, a cycle stunt team that performs around the United Kingdom. For Managing Director Iain Withers, it’s a challenge to book shows, coordinate riders’ schedules, and manage The Clan’s 10 trail riders, mountain bikers, and “BMXers.”

“When I’m on the mountain, I can’t answer customer calls, which means losing potential business. And it wasn’t easy keeping the team organised,” says Withers. “I wanted self-booking capabilities for our customers and the guys to take responsibility for their schedules.”

Solution
Stanley Yau, owner of Microsoft Certified Gold Partner SunDog Services, recommended Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard and the Windows Small Business Server 2011 Premium Add-On, an integrated server technology that includes a license for the Windows Server 2008 operating system and provides the option of running Hyper-V virtualisation technology. Yau installed the solution into the hosted virtualised environment at the SunDog Services data centre. ”With Remote Web Access, the team can access company data and enter performance dates in a calendar from any web browser,” says Yau. “They can use their mobile phones and Active Sync technology to manage email. And clients can log on to MB7’s website to book shows and download press releases to promote events.”

Benefits
Today, MB7 can run the business while amazing audiences on tour. “With Windows Small Business Server 2011, we offer a professional customer experience including self-serve bookings and access to promotional materials,” says Withers. “This sets us apart from our competition.”

Now that The Clan is accessing files and sharing calendars, Withers is saving an hour a day of management time and is thinking about expanding internationally. “Windows Small Business Server supporting us from Scotland while we tour New Zealand? Perfect!” he says.
