The Mobile Technology Center is an extension organization of Mobile Communication Product Group located in Beijing and a key pillar of the China Research and Development Group. We are building the next generation the Windows Mobile (WM) platform and key mobile applications. In addition, we are involved in several high impact commercialization projects for global mobile consumers.
MTC is looking for an exceptional Business Manager to manage several key aspects of our dynamic and fast pace business. The Business Manager will develop and execute business management, planning, and communications processes (external and internal), provide leadership on cross-group initiatives.
The Business Manager is responsible for organizational planning and business review rhythms, business process and measurement, and processes that support our cost accounting and financial management objectives.
The Business Manager will provide insight and advice to the leadership team for operational excellence, resource and fiscal planning; participating in MTC strategic decisions and assisting in implementing policies and procedures. This position can be a great learning opportunity for a candidate who is a functional expert today, but wants to broaden his/her perspective on how an distributed development center is run. This position will enable growth and broader responsibility.
As the Business Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Business process: Partner with MTC leadership team to run the rhythm of the business (ROB) through planning for fiscal calendar and events, coordination of business processes, and managing control processes. Partner with finance to ensure effective budget management and forecasting.
Business Planning: Manage the business planning process to ensure the coordination with MCPG Planning & Marketing and gather the latest market intelligence for WM China Strategy and business initiatives. Partner with MTC leadership team to design and develop high quality business messages and roadmap for four Centers of Excellence, key initiatives, and commercialization programs at MTC. Analyze the costs and business impacts of MTC Commercialization programs and WM7 Core programs to define MTC “return on investment” reports.
Team Communications/Business Evangelism: Develop team communication memos and presentations for group meetings and orchestrate the internal communications at major events such as QBRs, offsites and next FY planning. Plan and manage team meetings including All Hands, staff meetings and manager meetings. Be a proxy for MTC Directors and represent the team in key meetings.
Special Projects: Drive high-impact cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business demands and ensure the team achieve commitments.
