Course Description:
This course is to provide Systems Administrators with the knowledge and skills on specific aspects to successfully manage a Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 environment. This 3 hours instructor-led course, students will learn how to manage the ongoing operations (Inventory, Software Distribution, Patch Management, and Maintenance) of an SMS infrastructures in a medium or large enterprise organization. In addition, this course will cover the typical troubleshooting tools and scenarios in SMS 2003.

Class Hours:
Customers receive up-to-3 hours of classroom instruction and up-to 0.5 hours of work-based practicing at Lab.

Prerequisites:
Required: The following skills or knowledge are necessary for this class:

  • Fundamental AD, Networking knowledge and experience
  • Fundamental concepts of SMS 2003
  • Basic operation experience of SMS 2003
Recommended: With the following skills or knowledge will be a plus:
  • Enterprise system management experience
  • Patch Management experience and knowledge of related products, such as MBSA
