Corporate Citizenship

**Disaster Response**

In past disaster situations, Microsoft has provided various technology solutions to help humanitarian organizations respond, including: development of a tracking system for displaced people; updated online maps of the impacted regions; a volunteer registration tool; a satellite communications infrastructure for non-governmental organizations; and a software application localized to meet language needs.

Promoting Innovation

Microsoft is dedicated to collaborating with others to support choice, industry opportunity, and interoperability. The Windows Principles provide the industry and consumers with the benefits of ongoing innovation, while creating and preserving opportunities for competition.

Security and Privacy

Computer security, privacy, and children’s safety on the Internet are priorities for private industry and policymakers alike. Through technology innovation and partnerships with industry, governments, and law enforcement agencies, Microsoft is working to help people and businesses protect themselves.

Community Engagement and Investment

Microsoft has a long history of community engagement, and this has led to many community partnerships around the world. Through monetary grants, software and curriculum donations, technology solutions, and employee volunteer hours, we support projects and organizations that are making a difference.
