In late 2007, the interactive creative team at the Wunderman office in Seattle was tasked with creating the world’s first all-Silverlight website for Microsoft…and they lived to tell the tale.
THIS is their story.
The Situation
Anxious developers needed to keep the faith.
Developers needed to be reassured that Microsoft had their backs when it came to security. Microsoft wanted to change their perceptions of how it handled security issues.
The Challenge
Shed some light on the subject.
While security information resources were available on a range of disparate sites, this was a call to bring them together on a fun, engaging site—created entirely via Silverlight™—that would ultimately help developers:
- Write safer code
- Build safer net
- Surf safer Web
The Solution
Create a community site that got—and kept—developer interest.
Now all the Microsoft security information and resources are in one very cool place so the site serves as a go-to source and community gathering spot.
The Upshot
Anything with a chimp in a trenchcoat gets attention.
The Wunderman creative team veered from the usual into the nearly surreal, to the amusement of Mr. Corbin the chimp and to the delight of their client.
