 Human Resources
Attracting and Developing Microsoft's Most Important Asset
Working in Microsoft HR, you'll have the chance to drive our company's success by maximizing the value of our people. You'll help attract top graduates and the most experienced candidates in the software industry, guiding them into the right role for them. This requires working with our leaders and understanding their business needs and strategies. You'll help them leverage the capabilities of their people through intentional job moves and opportunities that both drive business success and help the employee realize his or her own success.
As an HR professional, your insight on human behavior will come into play, as you generate support from others to achieve our desired business outcomes. In HR, you can have a real impact by using your business acumen and knowledge of specific HR activities and functions to identify and resolve issues—and to help your own coworkers really shine in their own careers. Our Human Resources position includes participating in our HR Trax program.
HR Trax
Our HR Trax program is designed to accelerate your career development in Human Resources and become a successful leader at Microsoft. HR Trax matches your personal goals with our business needs as you complete two challenging rotational assignments in specific areas of HR. You’re expected to have significant impact in the work you do and contributions you make. Your participation will last a full fiscal year to give you time to complete specific projects and gain helpful insights on your contributions. Extensive contact with peers and senior leaders as well as mentoring and feedback are provided throughout the program to help you receive the most valuable experience. And when you complete the program you’ll emerge with a solid understanding of Microsoft HR and business functions with a track record and network to propel you to future success.
You can choose from among flexible rotations that offer a rich variety of experiences. Throughout your various rotations, you’ll take on one or all of these roles:
| • | Business Partner—You’ll help serve as a key member of the leadership team to drive organizational and people strategies that meet our business goals.
| | • | Change Agent—You’ll partner with and coach business leadership teams to facilitate organization and culture change, help educate these teams on HR trends that affect our business, and acquire business sponsorship for HR initiatives.
| | • | Project Manager—You’ll help lead implementation of core HR programs, including compensation, performance management, talent management, systems implementation, and more. Your focus will be on ensuring an effective, sustainable people agenda over the long term.
