Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard CAL は、Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Enterprise CAL に必須となります。これら 2 つの CAL のバージョンは、どちらのEditionのサーバーでも実行できます。また、Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Standard CAL と Enterprise CAL は共に Microsoft Enterprise CAL Suite のコンポーネントです。

Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 は、Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Server に対応するクライアント ソフトウェアです。Office Communicator 2007 R2 はスタンドアロン製品としても、Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2007 および Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 の一部としても取得できます。
Office Communications Server 2007 CAL がボリューム ライセンス価格リストに公開された時点 (日本語:2007年 11 月 1 日) で、お客様が Office Live Communications Server 2005 CAL および Office Live Communications 2005 Server のソフトウェア アシュランス (SA) をご利用になり、Office Communicator 2007 R2 のリリース期間中にアクティブな Office Communications Server 2007 Standard CAL SA を保持されている場合は、Office Pro Plus 2007、Office Enterprise 2007、または Office Communicator 2007 R2 のスタンドアロン ライセンスを購入することなく Office Communicator 2007 R2 をインストールする権利を行使できます。
CAL 使用シナリオ
Office Communications Server 2007 R2 では、Office Communications Server 2007 からライセンスの内容が 1 つ変更され、CAL の要件が変わっています。Office Communications Server 2007 R2 では、Active Directory 経由で認証された直接または間接アクセスに CAL が必要です。このため、CAL は、内部ユーザーには基本的に必要ですが、匿名の外部ユーザーには必要でなくなります。これで、CAL やエクスターナルコネクタを必要とせずに、外部ユーザーが Office Communications Server 2007 R2 の Web 会議に出席できるようになります。
次の Office Communications Server 2007 R2 の使用シナリオでは、個々のユーザーやデバイスに CAL ライセンスを割り当てる必要があります。
