Joe (Murf) Murphy -

Joe (Murf) Murphy -

After 22 years of moving all over the world, I retired from the US Air Force in 1988. Got hooked on computers in the early eighties and first was a Zenith 100 I think was the model. In the military at that time we went from 5-10 people sharing a computer to having our own desktops. Can remember buying my 1st 386 with 4MB memory and a 80MB drive WOW that was top of the line. - what an evolution to today, from MS DOS to Windows, incredible. Involved with on-line forums for the last 8-9 years I worked my way up to become a moderator at several of them. Today my favorite is cybertechhelp.com, where I moderate Windows 95/98/XP/Vista and Hardware forums. Along the way I developed "Murf's Garage" a on-line Windows/Hardware help web site. http://murfsgarage.cybertechhelp.com/index.htm I really enjoy building computers for friends/family and sometimes resale. Was recognized as a MS MVP in 2004/2005/2006/2007 and now for 2008, for my work with the on-line forums and web site. Enjoy helping people solve their computer problems 'for free' while making world-wide internet friends, which over the years have been many.

Lawrence Abrams -

Having worked as the CTO of a New York City ISP for the past 4 years, Lawrence has seen almost every type of malware pass through his network. This has lead him to become active in many of the malware removal sites on the Internet. Through these sites, Lawrence has dedicated himself to the dissemination of information about new malware and how to remove them. Over the years Lawrence had noted a lack of web sites devoted to teaching beginning computer concepts to the novice user. This led him to develop his web site, BleepingComputer.com, where he teaches the basic concepts of computing, Windows, Internet, and security in an easy to understand manner through tutorials and a support forum. Through this web site he has created an active online community where the majority of users are able to educate themselves in a fun and welcoming environment.
