  Question
I just installed IE7, and had jump back to IE6 almost immediately.
Something in the text rendering was so bad - making text look Blurry,
unclear and out of focus.
This was so straining on the eyes - had to remove IE7.

  Answer
Look through the options for anything like 'ClearType', and disable it.

It appears blurry because of 'antialiasing', a process that tries to make
fonts look like smooth lines instaed of grids of pixels. If you turn off
Microsoft's antialiasing program in the options, ClearType, it'll go back to
normal.

Do you know where to look for ClearType settings inside IE 7?
This problem is only with IE7 - IE 6 is good, I read in one of the posts to
check the desktop setting but as I understand it - that does not change IE 7
settings

Help me! My computer can't read my mind!

Do a web search or search on these forums for 'IE7 blurry cleartype text'.

I'd be nicer if peaple didn't complain before trying themselves to rectify
their problems, do you have ANY idea how many times this has came up, I
really do feel sorry for the people that write help documentation when people
like you dont read it.

  Answer
Check out the replies to my earlier post "IE7 and ClearType - how can I
remove this?". I have the same problems reading the fuzzy ClearType text.

I did follow all of the suggestions, but even after uninstalling IE 7 my text
is still blurry. Frustrating. It was perfect before.

You need to change your desktop settings to use -> Standard for "method to
smooth edges of screen fonts"
The settings are at Display Properties > Appearance and Click Advanced.

Make sure it’s not set on Clear Type.

As to IE-7 - This settings are buried under Tools > Internet Options >
Advanced > Multimedia. It is way buried way too deep, I find many 'regular
folk' users who are struggling with these settings and need help. I think it
should be brought out at list to the General Tab of Internet Settings....
