The next Windows operating system is under
development and no one outside of Microsoft
has any concrete knowledge of it features or how
it will compare to Vista.

Windows System & Performance
Hello Carey, guess as usual it will be developed after all the faults and
failures caused by the new operating system found globally on all PCs is
developed after every Tom, Dick and Harry report it or automatically collect
data from the User's PC.
After all have been hacked and whacked, WE will have to follow-up.

Don't know. As far as I can tell there have been no builds leaked yet.
Expect an update to the GUI. Smaller kernal(smaller footprint). Better
backward compatibility. I have had no problems with Vista on any of my
systems or any system I've installed it on. But there are a few who just
could'nt handle it. Vista never listed "compotent user" in the system
requirements when it was released.
So far anyones best guess right now is a dumbed down version of Vista.

I found this info about Windows 7 " 'Windows 7 FAQ'
(http://www.winsupersite.com/faq/windows_7.asp) " :)

Well wouldn't that admit Vista was a mistake?
Vista is already a dumbed down version of XP.
Few have problems? You mean oh, just a few million buddy?
Your idea of a competent user === the idiot Frank.
True enough Vista had some compatibility issues out of the box especially
when using certain IDE's including MS's own. However a lot of the service
packs released have resolved these issues in almost every case and can be
safely used as a dev environment for most developers now, which was my
biggest problem with using Vista initially. I love having a new interface to
look at vs something that has been around for ~ 6 years now. I highly doubt
that there will be anything ground breaking about windows 7 since most OS's
don't help you type faster or help shoot you to the moon, increase Fred's IQ
or anything earth shattering that people unrealistically expect their
computers to do on their own now days.
The thing about Linux vs Windows is that nobody can point their finger at a
single company when something F's up. MS usually takes responsibility for any
issues and works to resolve them quite fast considering how many users
actually use any number of their multitude of products. More then I can say
about Apple products. Apple just does a better PR job of hiding/denying
problems. If you want to bring up a crap tank product bring up windows me,
other then that windows has been pretty solid and given the 6 years that XP
has on Vista and the initial problems people had adjusting to it as well I
think Vista is doing well. Personally I'll go with the company that admits
mistakes and resolves them over the one that hides their issues and
discretely releases service packs to fix them. With Linux you just have to
hope that the developer cares enough (most seem to) to fix whatever the
problem might be.

That's a myth. WinME is more solid than Win98 (I quite rarely reboot it
- only after extensive usage of a resource-leaking program).
Though it contains features not available in Win98: for example, it's
trivial Paint let me get raw images from my scanner. Also it provides
excelent USB support.
So when I see yet another "Is Vista a crap like WinME" article, I
smile to myself: yeah, Vista is like WinME - they are good.

Did you use the Vista RC when it was first released? Or did you shop for it
in a flea-market?

Here are preliminary screenshots from Windows 7 Ultimate, and
links to other Win 7 info.
Those screenshots are meaningless, as no work appears to have been released
on the GUI yet. Early XP screenshots had the 'Watercolor' theme, that was
like a refreshed Win2000 look, and early Longhorn screenshots looked like a
refreshed XP interface.

My guess is, we will have welcome screen with a little voice saying"Welcome
Mr.Frank, have a nice time interacting with me" or some thing similar. Then
when we log off it may say"Thank you Mr.Frank, have a nice day".
And while we operate the PC,it may say"You can make a cup of coffee while I
look for the web page" or "You may listen to some music while I connect to
the Internet".
I am wondering how they are going to amaze me as well.
I just hope frank doesnt drag his ars to the new windows7 newsgroup... I
cant stand having him around for another several years

Like there's a real need for you to be here also.
Hint: the Linux group has the word Linux not Vista in it.
