Microsoft WinDays 9 Technology Conference

The Microsoft WinDays 9 Technology conference was designed not only for highly skilled, technical experts, but also for individuals responsible for the procurement of new products and technologies, as well as experts responsible for the technological development and selection of the platform used in business operations in their respective companies. Held from Tuesday to Thursday, the conference itself will offer attendees with the presentations that have the objective of demonstrating the possibilities of various Microsoft products, as well as to point out the technology behind the wide range of products and services.

The presentations will be grouped into five categories: DEV, PLAT, OS, SYS and IW.

In the DEV category, the topic will be Visual Studio development platform, as well as using .NET as a technology for the development of web, desktop and mobile device solutions. The advanced possibilities of programming in .NET languages and the architectural concepts behind successful applications will be presented to participants. Particular emphasis will be placed on application lifecycle management and team development using Visual Studio Team System. Attention will be focused on the new opportunities provided to teams by this development environment.

Presentations in the PLAT category will deal with the Microsoft platform, therefore providing insight into the Azure Services platform and the new cloud-computing platform. Participants will thus be familiarized with new concepts for the development of solutions, as well as technologies that will mark the Microsoft platform in the years ahead. An essential area is the Windows Live family of products and the web-platform, which can be used to enhance customized applications, as will be demonstrated.

The OS category will deal with fundamental Microsoft infrastructure. The backbone will consist primarily of operating systems, and presentations will provide various technical overviews of the Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista and Windows Mobile systems. The Windows 7 presentations will provide insight into the future, and the topics of Hyper-V and of virtualization in general will be addressed, with the objective of optimizing IT infrastructure.

The SYS category will deal with products that upgrade the basic infrastructure of the operating system and provide an advanced IT environment. Participants will be introduced to the advanced technical characteristics and capabilities of products from the Windows Server System, System Center and Forefront families. The guiding principles will be enhancement of the IT infrastructure and the use of the advanced capabilities of server products, keeping in mind security and scalability.

The IW category will present technologies under the common heading of information worker and it will deal with products from the Office system, SharePoint, technically advanced server systems such as Exchange Server or Office Communication Server, as well as other technologies such as PerformancePoint and CRM.

The objective of the Microsoft WinDays 9 Technology conference is to provide attendees insight into the functioning and possibilities of Microsoft products and services, as well as to demonstrate how they can build their own solutions and infrastructure based on them. The speakers will be the leading domestic and foreign experts from the ranks of Microsoft and partner companies, while the greater part of contents will consist of technical presentations.

The Microsoft WinDays 9 Technology conference begins in the late morning hours on Tuesday, April 21, overlapping with the closing of the business conference, and ends in Opatija on Thursday, April 23, while the official closing will take place on Friday, April 24, on the virtual conference day. In that way, participants interested in business matters will have enough opportunity to achieve the goals of their attendance, while investing a minimum amount of time.
