Microsoft Cyprus has the honor to invite you at the Innovative Education Forum 2010, which will be held at Hilton Park Hotel, Nicosia on June 24th, 2010 with honorable speakers Mrs. Androulla Vassiliou, EU Commissioner and Dr. Andreas Demetriou, Minister of Education and Culture.


Summary

Technological innovation and the Internet have reshaped the way that we access and consume knowledge, thus creating higher expectations from new generations. Beyond the basic skills required, Information Society demands collaboration, communication, information management and critical thinking abilities.

The purpose of the event is to highlight the role of education in developing these abilities, their correlation with economic development and the general impact on Cyprus.

The day will be concluded with a discussion panel that will be facilitated by Mr. Chrysanthos Tsouroullis, Journalist, with the participation of Dr. Andreas Demetriou, Minister of Education and Culture, Professor Stavros Zenios, Rector of the University of Cyprus, Mr. Michalis Sarris, former Minister of Finance, Mr. Costas Agrotis, Chairman of the Cyprus Computer Society and Director of Information Technology Services and Professor Elpida Keravnou - Papailiou, President of the Governing Board, Cyprus University of Technology.
