Brian, American, Usability Engineer
"It's difficult to get bored at Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen, mainly because there's always an opportunity to try new things. I've been here since 1998, and I tend to be involved in projects lasting 3-4 months. What's common about the projects is that none of them are alike. This is both exciting and challenging as I need to work with different methods and people for each project. " "I have a very user-centric job as usability engineer on the Microsoft Dynamics UX team. One of the things that I do basically is to observe real users at real companies doing real work in order to gain an understanding of their real challenges – and then of course presenting my findings to the feature teams that I'm working with. This has a real impact on the software development process. One of my best experiences was driving a user-centric design process for a new sales order form for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0. This was a good experience because we let the data that we gathered from customer visits in three countries drive the requirement and design decisions that led to the new sales order form. " | "I would definitely recommend Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen as a workplace for people who are open to working in a team-based environment. It may not be a great place for lone wolves who don't like to work on teams. But for me it's perfect. Beautiful location, a very flexible working environment, and lots of really nice colleagues who are passionate about software development. It's no surprise that I'm still here." |
