Meet a student
Giedrius Gobe
Lithuanian Software Development Engineer in Test (student worker)

“I’m working in a client team in the Testing department, and I’ve been employed at Microsoft’s biggest development center in Europe for a bit more than 6 months. So I think it’s fair to say that my dream of working for a world famous corporation and being able to take part in projects that have a major impact on the business world has come true.

I have combined my bachelor degree in software engineering from Vilnius University with a master in computer science and engineering from DTU here in Denmark. And although I’m a student worker, I get to work on major projects with my senior colleagues, which is a great way to learn more about my special areas of interest. At present I’m executing automated and manual tests from different testing areas as well as taking part in the development of new testing frameworks. I also develop automated tests, analyze product features and write up bug reports. I know it’s a mouthful, but if you are ambitious and eager to learn new and challenging stuff, I would recommend MDCC as a workplace anytime. The hands-on experience I get here will be very valuable in combination with my academic education.

It’s very interesting to be working across so many different areas, but the best thing about MDCC is actually the fact that I’m part of an international and multicultural environment. I’m networking like crazy, learning as much as possible all the time – and the friendly atmosphere on and off campus really motivates me to meet my challenges head on. Living in Denmark is great, although the language is quite tricky. Luckily, you can easily get by in English.”
