Retail Software Associates (RSA) provides software solutions and business and technology consulting to a large, diverse group of customers, many of them in the retail, hospitality and distribution industries. The majority of RSA’s customers are in the Philippines, Singapore, and other business centers in Southeast Asia. To help maintain excellent service levels and support customers with great efficiency, RSA searched for a project management tool that would be an optimal fit with its ways of working and other software systems. Nothing quite worked out until Bo Lundqvist, President and CEO at RSA, clicked on the Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace tab in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, which the company uses to manage its sales and marketing efforts.
“Through the tab in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, it was very easy to search for a project management solution to see what the Microsoft partners offer,” says Lundqvist. “The description of CRM-Project matched precisely what I was looking for, and it also had great reviews. Those were very important to me, so I got in touch with the partner immediately.” CRM-Project, the 4th module for project management in Microsoft Dynamics CRM, comes fromxRM1, a German Microsoft partner, and offers a full set of project management capabilities for organizations in any market segment. Says Lundqvist, “I received a prompt response from the salespeople at xRM1. They asked for some information about RSA and, a few days later, showed us an online demo of their solution, which worked seamlessly with the core Microsoft Dynamics CRM solution we use. They also provided downloadable knowledge materials for us to learn more. We decided to purchase CRM-Project that same day.”
With guidance from xRM1, RSA deployed and configured CRM-Project. After a one-day online training, 15 team members began using the solution. “I’m extremely happy with the Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace and with what I see from CRM-Project so far,” says Lundqvist. “With a few clicks, I was able to connect with a solution and a vendor that addressed our needs for all aspects of our complex project management. What’s more, it only took a few days to get the new tool up and running in our business.”
In addition to bringing more users to CRM-Project as RSA grows, Lundqvist is already thinking of several ways to make the solution even more valuable. “Soon, we will give customers secure access to their project reports that CRM-Project generates so that they can review progress updates, invoicing projections, and other details at their convenience,” he says. “In addition, we are standardizing the use of Microsoft Office 365 and Windows Phone 7.5 in our organization, which will give all our staff instant access to CRM-Project in any mobile situation. For example, they will be able to enter time spent on each project as it happens, expense reports and even apply for leave by using their phones. That will enable us to be more agile in resource planning, which will help our customers. We will also be able to invoice customers promptly, which will help our cash flow.”
