Instructions

For your Windows Phone Apps

Step 1: If you are not yet a Microsoft DreamSpark member, you need to register at www.dreamspark.com. Please note that when you register with DreamSpark, you should verify your student status and get your student developer activation code.

Step 2: Register with the Windows Phone Dev Center using your Microsoft Account. Important: You must register to DreamSpark and get your free student activation code. After having introduced the activation code, your credit card details will be required. This is only required for registration purpose, your credit card will NOT be charged. When your personal details are requested, please note that you should use the same e-mail address you used for your DreamSpark registration and your own name as a publisher of the application.

Step 3: Download and install Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 for free from your school’s DreamSpark Premium web store (formerly known as MSDN AA) and the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 from the Windows Phone Dev Center.

Step 4: Design and develop two or more of your own Windows Phone 8 applications or games using your creativity. Here are some resources, and come to our roadshows to learn from our experts! You can create your applications or games using C# or VB and XAML for apps or C++ and for high performance apps and games. Please follow the application certification guidelines for Windows Phone when creating your application and submitting it to the Windows Phone Store for the certification process. We offer you a list of suggestions of possible app themes that could be interesting for you to develop, but feel free to come up with your own innovative ideas!

Step 5: Once your applications are ready, please submit them to the Swiss Windows Phone Marketplace. Your DreamSpark membership allows you to submit your application to the Windows Phone Store free of charge. Your application will be published in the Windows Phone Store catalog as soon as it passes certification. Further instructions about the application submission process are available in the Submission Walkthrough.

Step 6: After your applications have been published in the Windows Phone Store, fill in our registration form with your data. If you do not have your own school/university email address, please include a scanned copy of your student card in the registration form. Providing all the details needed will register you to our campaign. Once you have filled in this form, you will receive a confirmation within the next 2 business days. A verification period will follow, where we will assess the information you have sent us. You will further be informed about following procedures.

For your Windows 8 apps
