Office XP. Office XP SP2 contains significant security enhancements, as well as stability
and performance improvements. Some of the fixes included with SP2 have been
previously released as separate updates. This service pack combines them into
one update. Microsoft recommends that users install the Office XP SP2 update using the Office Product Updates site. This site will detect your Office installation, prompt you to install exactly what you need to be fully updated, and can minimize the time required to download this update. Office XP SP2 will install successfully even if one or more of the publicly available updates listed above has already been installed on your computer. Office XP SP2 also includes stability improvements developed as a result of user input from the Error Reporting Tool in Office XP and from Microsoft Product Support feedback. If you are running Microsoft Windows® 2000, installing Office XP SP2 may require a reboot of your machine. This reboot may be prevented by upgrading to Windows Installer 2.0.
