Overview
The Microsoft Speech Server (MSS) 2004 R2 MOM Management Pack extends the MOM environment with rules, tasks and knowledge about the operation of MSS. The Management Pack includes 40 event rules for MSS Speech Engine Services, 14 event rules for MSS Telephony Application Services, 39 alert generating rules, 44 performance measuring rules for MSS Speech Engine Services, 15 performance measuring rules for MSS Telephony Application Services, performance threshold rules and tasks. The Management Pack also includes knowledge base text that describes the summary, causes and resolutions of MSS events.
The Microsoft Speech Server 2004 R2 Management Pack provides for:
- Monitoring important errors, warnings, and informational events that are placed in the application event log by Speech Engine Services (SES) and Telephony Application Services (TAS).
- Monitoring service availability.
- Monitoring performance data.
- Alerting operators to critical problems.

Instructions
To download the Management Pack:
- Click on the link to the right, and download the management pack module.
- Double Click on the Management Pack executable and follow the instructions to extract the Management Pack files to a temporary directory.
Importing a Management Pack
You can import this Management Pack using the Microsoft Operations Manager administrator console and following these steps:
- Open the Microsoft Operations Manager administrative MMC console.
- Expand the Microsoft Operations Manager node.
- Right click on the Management Packs sub-node and then select the Import/Export Management Pack... option.
