This download allows you update the French proofing tools to the latest
version. The updated French proofing tools — French and French
(Canada) spelling checker, grammar checker, and thesaurus — offer
improved suggestions.
This update also resolves some specific issues with the proofing tools - such as running the grammar checker in the background, using the Look Up button in the Thesaurus, correcting spelling suggestions for certain words such as "anti-stress" or "Anti-arbres", and using the grammar checker in Windows Terminal Server.

Instructions
To install this download
- You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are
offline.
- Download the file from this page by clicking the Download
link above and following the instructions in
the dialog boxes.
- Double-click the Frproo2k.exe program file on your hard disk
to start the setup program.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Instructions for use:
Use the proofing tools as you normally would. For example, to use the
spelling checker in Word, do the following:- Start Word.
- Open the document that contains French text.
- Select the text you want to spell check using the French spelling
files.
- On the Tools menu, point to Language, and then click Set Language.
- In the Mark selected text as list, select French
(France) or French (Canada) and then click OK.
- Press F7 or click Spelling and Grammar on the Tools
menu.
To remove this download:
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the Install/Uninstall list, select French Proofing
Tools Update for US Office 2000, and then click Add/Remove.
- Click Remove All.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish to complete and exit the installer.
