Overview
This page provides two samples of Group Policy Administrative Template ADM files with their corresponding ADMX formats. These sample files highlight the ADM and ADMX formats for creating the different parameters for the administrative template policy settings.

- User rights to run Group Policy Object Editor (gpedit.msc).

Instructions
- Click the download button

- In the File Download dialog box, click Save.
- In the Save As dialog box, browse to the directory on your computer to which you want to save the .msi file.
- To start downloading the .msi file, click Save.

Additional Information
This page provides access to the two ADM sample files, example1_SinglePolicySetting.adm and
example2.adm,with their corresponding ADMX files. The files are included in a Microsoft Installer (MSI) package, available for download from this page.
The Group Policy settings included in this example are strictly sample policy settings. They are fully functional; the policy settings displayed through the use of these sample files will configure registry settings under the registry keys
[HKLM|HKCU]\Software\Policies\Examples.
All these files can be loaded into the Group Policy Object Editor on a Windows Vista-based computer.
The policy settings defined in these files will display in the Group Policy Object Editor under the following categories:
- The ADM file policy settings are found under [computer|user] configuration\Classic Administrative Templates\Example 1 - Simplest single Group Policy setting" or "[computer|user] configuration\Classic Administrative Templates\Example 2 Policy settings.
- The ADMX file policy settings are found under [computer|user] configuration\Administrative TemplatesExample 1 - Simplest single Group Policy setting" "[computer|user] or configuration\Administrative Templates\Example 2 Policy settings.
