Overview

This download contains the sample workbook that accompanies the Microsoft Office Assistance Center article Excel 2002: Overview and Samples of Data Validation. The sample workbook contains examples of each of the types of validation and all the message types. The workbook also includes instructions for viewing the settings used for each validated cell, and copying the validation settings to your own workbooks, where you can modify them to suit your uses.

To install this download

  1. You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
  2. Download the file from the Office Tools on the Web site by clicking the Download link above and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
  3. Double-click the DVSample.exe program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.


Instructions for use:

The installation program copies the file DataValidationSamples.xls to your desktop. From there you can copy or move the file to another folder if you want.


To view the sample workbook, double-click the file DataValidationSamples.xls, and then read the information and instructions in Excel.

To remove this download:

There is no uninstall feature with this download. To remove the download file itself, delete the file DVSample.exe. To remove the file you installed, search for and delete the file DataValidationSamples.xls from your hard disk drive.
