Important Supplemental Information The following sections provide additional information that you must consider when you install and configure Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. Dynamics CRM Email Router in a lab or test environment In a lab or test environment, it is common practice to consolidate server roles. The Microsoft Dynamics CRM E-mail Router inbound mail processing will not function if installed on a Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server with combined Client Access Server (CAS) and Mailbox server roles on the same machine. It is recommended that you install Microsoft Exchange 2007 CAS Server on a dedicated server. Microsoft Dynamics CRM sign-in form In a lab or test environment, it is common practice to place servers in a flat network topology. If Internet Explorer is run on a machine in the same network as the Microsoft Dynamics CRM environment, the user will be presented with a Windows authentication dialog box instead of being directed to the sign-in form. To work around this, the subnet mask value of the ifdInternalNetworkAddress registry key will need to be updated to the value 255.255.255.255. Secure Sockets Layer configuration The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate must be installed and configured before you access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web site. To display the Microsoft Dynamics CRM sign-in form, the organization name is read from the SSL certificate name. Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server Configuration setup file The deployment process described in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Deployment Guide for Service Providers makes use of an XML configuration file to provide Microsoft Dynamics CRM Server setup with additional information that is required to complete the installation successfully.
