To install this download
- You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
- Download the file from this page by clicking the Download link above and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
- Double-click the Extalert.exe program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Instructions for use:
When Office displays an alert that includes the Web Info button, you can click it to connect to the Microsoft Customer Support Web site and receive more information on the alert. To make sure that the installation is successful and to see an example of the Web Info button, follow these steps:- In Word 2000 or Excel 2000, create a new document or workbook.
- On the File menu, click Save.
- On the Tools menu, click General Options.
- In the Password to open box, type a password, then click OK.
- In the Confirm Password dialog box, type the password again, and then click OK.
- Enter a file name, and then click Save.
- Close the file you just saved, and then open it again.
- In the Password dialog box, click OK without entering the password.
The appropriate alert will display with the Web Info button.
To remove this download:
- On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then choose Control Panel. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the list of programs on the Install/Uninstall tab, find Customizable Alerts, and highlight it. Click Add/Remove, and then click Remove All.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.
