OverviewMicrosoft Excel 2000 allows you to continue to use and maintain Excel 4.0 macros (XLM macros) that you haven't yet upgraded to Visual Basic® for Applications (VBA). The Excel 4.0 macro function Help file provides complete Help topics for the Excel 4.0 macro functions. Although you cannot record new Microsoft Excel 4.0 macros in Microsoft Excel 2000, you can run and modify existing XLM macros. This Help file provides information including syntax and examples for the macro functions. You can access this information from the Office Assistant when you use these functions. For information about upgrading your macros to Visual Basic for Applications, see the Microsoft Office 2000 Resource Kit. For information about recording macros in Excel 2000, type macros in the Office Assistant or on the Answer Wizard tab in the Excel Help window, and then click Search.
