Overview

You can use the Northwind Traders sample database as a tool to help you learn Access 2000. Experiment with the data stored in Northwind, and use the forms, reports, and other database objects as models for your own database.


When you first open the Northwind database, all the objects in it are available from the Database window. You can also view descriptions of the objects in the Database window by clicking Details on the View menu.

To install this download

  1. You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
  2. Download the file from this page by clicking the Download link above and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
  3. Double-click the Nwind.exe program file on your hard disk to start the setup program.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.


Instructions for use:

  1. In Access, click Open on the File menu.
  2. Locate the Nwind.mdb file and select it.
  3. Click Open.
  4. Click Convert to convert the database to the Access 2000 format and open it.


To remove this download:

There is no uninstall procedure for this download. To remove the download, delete the files Nwind.exe and Nwind.mdb from your computer.
