The Microsoft® PowerPoint 97® Batch Converter helps you convert several older PowerPoint presentations to the PowerPoint 97 format at once. It is not an add-in for PowerPoint, but a stand-alone program that can be run without even opening PowerPoint.

To install this download

  1. You may want to print this page to use as a reference when you are offline.
  2. Download the file from this page by clicking the Download link above and following the instructions in the dialog boxes.
  3. Double-click the pptcvt.exe program file on your hard disk to start the Setup program.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.


Instructions for use:

To use the converter:
  1. Place all files to be converted in the same folder.
  2. From the Start menu, point to Programs, and choose PowerPoint Batch Converter.
  3. Within the program, select the files names and types of files you want to convert.
  4. List the folder you moved the files to be converted into as Source, and a folder to place the newly converted files into as Destination.
  5. Click Convert.


To remove this download:

  1. From the Start menu, point to the Settings entry, and choose Control Panel. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  2. In the list on the Install/Uninstall tab, find the entry PowerPoint Batch Converter, and highlight it. Click Add/Remove.
  3. When it asks you if you are sure you want to remove the application, click Yes.
  4. When it finishes removing the program, click OK on the confirmation dialog box.
